Virus
The overriding experience of working at the hospital during the first months of the Coronavirus outbreak was the stillness and quiet around the whole site.
Although all the wards were full of ill and recovering patients, doctors, nurses and other staff working tirelessly, it was the silence of the ward corridors and architecture around the hospital that really struck me.
Disturbingly silent.
The one Thursday evening in mid April where everyone at the Hospital came out along with the other local emergency services, to celebrate all the key workers caring for others, was a notable break in this silence and truly emotional for everyone.
